Growth Spurt

I'm hitting a growth spurt (spurt is such an odd word, no?).

My Father is tuning the desires of my heart to His more and more every day.

I am living in the here-and-now and also realizing that the here-and-now is my training grounds for the there-and-later.

I am loving harder, so much so that my heart physically aches de vez en cuando (every now and again).

I am ebbing and flowing, running hard and standing still.

He is teaching me to listen listen listen and, when necessary, speak the truth with all the love I can muster (yet another odd word).

He deserves first place in my heart without compromise, and He's always so kind to reassume the position when I have played the whore.

Love so amazing, so divine, demands my heart, my life, my all.

Might I Recommend...

I've been in a bit of a blogging slump for the past few weeks, so to keep your appetities quenched, I'd like to recommend another blog that I've found to be quite the enjoyable read. Jamie, The Very Worst Missionary (as she calls herself), and her family are living it out for Jesus over in Costa Rica. She writes in a very real, humorous, and sometimes sarcastic tone that I personally find refreshing. She has a talent for taking the (seemingly) most random situations and circumstances (speedos, exotic dancers on airplanes, avoiding piles of dog crap while running, etc.) and finding the spiritual connection to challenge herself and others in their faith.

*Warning: this blog may not be for those who are legalistic at heart or for those who think foreign missionaries are saintly servants who live lives on a different level than the rest of the world. Actually, maybe it is exactly for those who fit into said categories ;o)
